The Times & SEO are changing!
We can no longer rely on keyword targeting alone to optimize our content.
Whether we should focus on topics or keywords is a debate in progress. But figuring out which topics can influence the SERP is, at best, a manual process; at worst, it’s a time-consuming job.
We’re all aware that SEO has become a lot more complex in the last few years with the continuing updating of existing algorithms and new ranking factors impacting SERPs (search engine results pages) with Pandas, Penguins & Hummingbird updates.
Keyword usage alone no longer guarantees us results since Google started using elements of LSI (latent semantic indexing) to figure out the meaning of words and phrases.
As a result Hummingbird started spreading its wings. Now in some cases, pages in the SERP might not need to contain the keyword at all.
That appears like utter chaos, right?
